When Mary, Jesus’ mother, was approached by the angel Gabriel, she was a young teenage girl. Gabriel informed her that she had been chosen by God to bring the promised Messiah that Israel had been awaiting for thousands of years into the world. It was an awesome responsibility and a great honor. Mary’s response to this news teaches us so much about her and about what it means to worship the Lord in a proper way. We will begin to examine Mary’s praise today. “The Magnificat - 1” is taken from Luke 1:46-55.
