What Manner of Persons Ought We to Be?

God’s people have always been lived in anticipation of the fulfilling of God’s promise. In the Old Testament the Israelites lived in hope of a Redeemer. Delay caused them to lose focus on that promise and they weren’t ready when He finally arrived. In the New Testament we anxiously await the return of the One Who first came. Many, like the Israelites, have also lost focus as the world stumbles steadily toward the end. The inspired writers of the epistles instructed us on how to live, given these realities. We’re going to be looking at these instructions in the coming weeks. We’ll start today: “What Manner of Persons Ought We to Be?” will begin in II Peter 3:11.
