Recognizing the Lion Tamer

A common mistake that is made in Bible study is to miss the point! This is especially true when it comes to the narrative portions of Scripture. The story of David and Goliath, for instance, is not about me and the biggest problem I am facing in my life at a particular time! Young David, himself, knew the point of it all - - to make God known to the world (I Samuel 17:46-47). We can easily make ourselves the hero of these wonderful Bible stories we read, while missing the greater point God is seeking to convey to us. We’ll try to avoid that calamity today as we look at Daniel in the lion’s den. “Recognizing the Lion Tamer” is taken from Daniel 6:14-28.
