Lord, Teach Us to Pray

In the gospels we see the transformation of the disciples from what might be termed “entry level believers” – to “full-fledged followers” of Christ. When first called to be His disciples, they were steeped in the teaching of the Scribes and Pharisees, as well as in Jewish tradition. They were good men who loved the Lord, but they were not mature, godly men! Their religious leadership provided them no example of true godliness. It would take 3 years of in-tense training by Christ to develop them into a band of men entrusted with taking the gospel to the world. He exemplified the pattern of godly living in many ways, some of which many believers struggle now. We’ll talk about one of them today. “Lord, Teach Us to Pray” is taken from Luke 11:1-13.
